Technical Visit to the sinfonIA Laboratory

Resumen del Evento (Event Overview)
Technical visit by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) Chapter of the Universidad Distrital to the Colibrí laboratory, where members connected with the SinfonIA group, a leading research team focused on social robotics and artificial intelligence. We shared a recreational and technical space to learn about cutting-edge humanoid robots that we had seen before, such as the Unitree G1, Pepper, and NAO, so that the chapter volunteers could become more familiar with robotics and automation.
Exhibición Interactiva y Ejes Estratégicos
Humanoid Robots and Embodied AI Platforms: Unitree G1, Pepper & NAO During the interactive session, student volunteers explored state-of-the-art platforms in social robotics and autonomous systems: • Unitree G1: Bipedal humanoid platform designed for agile dynamic locomotion, balance control, and advanced embodied intelligence. • Pepper: Social interaction humanoid robot with multi-directional sensing, facial recognition, and conversational capabilities. • NAO: High-precision bipedal robot used worldwide for kinematics research, computer vision, and autonomous behavioral routines.
Taller Práctico, Soldadura y Concurso de Ensamble PCB
Democratizing Advanced Robotics and Inter-Institutional Synergy This visit provided our volunteers with hands-on exposure to functional humanoid robotics, sparking new ideas for chapter projects and strengthening collaboration with specialized research laboratories in Bogotá. By experiencing these technologies up close, RAS UD volunteers reinforce their skills in robot control, computer vision, and human-robot interaction.
